Andrea is the principal of Hartranft Lighting Design, LLC and she has 30 years of extensive design and project management experience in lighting and control systems for commercial, institutional
and industrial projects and holds a degree in Architectural Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
She has received international lighting design awards from the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). She is President of the IALD Education Trust, past Chair of the IALD Awards Committee and the IES Progress Report Committee, and taught fundamental/advanced lighting design at the Corcoran College of Art + Design.
Andrea has spoken on lighting issues at local colleges and Universities, provided presentations on lighting for Enlighten Americas 2007,2008, 2016, conducted design workshops for the IES Conference in 2010, 2014 and 2015 and the AIA in 2016, and was a workshop head for Lights in Alingsas 2015.
Zhang Lin is Associate Professor at CUC (Communication University of China) and teacher of the Light Design qualification. He received his bachelor’s degree in Stage Lighting Design from The
Central Academy of Drama and he received his master’s degree in Stage Design in the same school
From 1998 to 2005, Lin worked as professional lighting designer in Beijing Opera Company in Beijing.
In 2005, he began workin in CUC. He had been a visiting scholar in Nottingham Trent University/UK and then he studied Architectural Lighting Design in Wismar University/ Germany.
In 2013 Zhang Lin' Light Environment Studio was established in the School of Film and Cinematic Arts in CUC.
In 2016 the CUC Light Design Application Research Center was founded and he became the director. Nowadays he is the Vice-President of the Illumination Art Committee of Architecture and Culture Society of China.
Born in Casale Monferrato in 1975 and educated as an electrical engineer, after his graduation has practiced for several years in various scale projects in Italy and abroad.
He started to work as a lighting designer on several illumination projects of artistic and historic sites; in public venues, he was awarded with important prizes and gained national recognition.
He is member in the composition of “Light and Lighting” of UNI (Italian National Association for Standardization).
He is currently professor in Lighting techniques at university of Lugano SUPSI Switzerland, Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design.
He teaches lighting design at Politecnico in Milan and other design schools, such as IED “Istituto Europeo di Design” and ISAD “Istituto Superiore di Architettura e Design”.
In 2007, he founded Luxemozione.com the first Italian blog about lighting design topics.
In 2013, with other colleagues, he established the forum Italian Lighting Design Promotion Group on Facebook, for raising awareness about lighting design topics.
Since 2014 he is a Council Member of APIL – Associazione dei Professionisti dell’Illuminazione (Italian Association of Lighting Professionals). He also writes articles for lighting design
In 2016 he founded, with other lighting designers, LDT Lighting Design Team, a multidisciplinary studio of Lighting Design.
